William Martin Fickweiler, the Laporte boy who was seriously injured in the U.S.S. Bennington disaster, died Sunday night (July 23rd) as a result of his injuries. He was scalded bout the head, arms and chest.
Fickweiler was not yet 21 years old and was just completing his fourth year of a five-year term of enlistment.
Records state that his body was lost or destroyed.
