Holland, Dwight Noble F2C

Dwight Holland was born on March 30, 1882. He served as a fireman second-class on the U.S.S. Bennington. Dwight Holland was one of 66 crew members killed in one of the Navy’s worst peacetime disasters, when the U.S.S. Bennington boiler exploded on July 21, 1905.

Dwight’s remains were temporarily interred at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma, California. Subsequently his remains were moved to the Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins, Colorado on October 25, 1905.
